AVCAL recently hosted our fellow colleagues at the Global Venture Capital Congress here in Sydney. With over thirty delegates attending from all over the world including Britain, America, Japan and India, the Congress was a great success.
This year’s theme was Limited Partners involvement in the Private Equity and Venture Capital Community. Ensuring Limited Partners are involved in the community results in a number of benefits, including a better understanding of their needs and also advocacy to take place on their behalf and thus enabling a better overview of the industry as a whole.
The congress had numerous networking opportunities allowing delegates to form worthwhile relationships from the around the globe; and to collaborate on forming a cohesive working relationship with other venture capital firms.
The three day congress saw a number of presentations given, one of which was an LP Outlook of VC and PE given by Yasser El-Ansary from AVCAL, Eugene Snyman from Cambridge Associates, Steve Byrom from Future Fund, Lisa Edgar from Top Tier Capital and Emily Mendell from the Institutional Limited Partners Association.
