The Australian Investment Council is currently in the process of finalising the framework for a model Responsible Investment Policy that can be used by members to show their firm's commitment to incorporate ESG factors into investment decisions to better manage risk and generate sustainable, long-term returns.

A formal policy allows the fund to communicate its commitments to LPs in a clear, consolidated way. It also aligns expectations and builds trust with the fund’s broader stakeholders including its investment professionals, regulators and portfolio company employees.

Following our initial consultation with members, we are pleased to be hosting a workshop lead by the private capital industry's ESG expert, Steven Okun, to incorporate feedback from both GP and LP members. The final framework will be available in the Members Portal following workshop for their individual use.
